The historic heart of Zanzibar and a place that deserves time ashore.
Wander through its colourful streets and discover some of the city's most recognisable places - from the Old Fort and Forodhani Gardens to Zanzibar's famous carved doors, Jaw's Corner and Freddie Mercury's House.
Stone Town brings history, architecture and everyday island life together, offering a completely different experience from Zanzibar's beaches and reefs.
CHANGUU ISLAND
A small island just off Stone Town, Changuu, also known as Prison Island, is best known for its Giant Tortoise Sanctuary.
Spend some time exploring the island, meet its famous tortoises, then enjoy the surrounding water and beach before returning to the catamaran.
MNEMBA
For those who want to discover Zanzibar beneath the surface.
The clear waters around Mnemba offer beautiful conditions for snorkeling and observing life around the coral reef. Dolphins and sea turtles may also be encountered in the area.
MENAI BAY
Menai Bay is known for its turquoise lagoons and sandbanks, creating a beautiful setting for swimming and snorkeling. The area also includes Kwale Island, where you can see an impressive centuries-old baobab tree.
NUNGWI & KENDWA
One of Zanzibar's best-known northern beach areas, but there is more here than simply spending a day on the sand.
Explore Nungwi village, browse for local souvenirs or head ashore to enjoy the restaurants, bars and atmosphere of this livelier part of the island.

JOZANI FOREST
Leave the ocean behind for a while and discover Zanzibar's tropical interior.
Jozani National Park is home to the island's rare Red Colobus monkeys and offers an entirely different experience from the coastline - green, tropical and full of life.
KIZIMKAZI
Discover a more local side of Zanzibar in the fishing village of Kizimkazi.
Spend time walking through the village and experiencing a part of the island where fishing remains closely connected to everyday life. The surrounding southern waters also offer opportunities for swimming and snorkeling around sandbars and the possibility of seeing dolphins

Zanzibar's identity has long been connected with spices.
